A Quest for Identity
From Afghanistan to the World
“My eyes watered with remorse. No one had ever asked me about myself before, who I am as a person, as a woman. What did it mean, my happiness, my dreams, my longings? I felt a sudden jolt of power in my hands. For once in my life, I had the freedom to do whatever my heart desired.”
“What do I want in life? What are my desires? What makes me happy? Who am I?”
A Quest for Identity is the story of Parastu Ahang Mehdawi and her search for a home across three continents.
“I don’t know where I am going, but I am on my way.”
– Voltaire
